Old Jah Prayzah returns to Chitubu, but is it enough? – Radio Nehanda

The year 2018 almost ended, but somehow it felt incomplete. It's a year that brought many things for the Zimbabweans. It is a year that brought old problems and new headaches, a year of suffering and hardships, but sprinkled hope for the future.

Much can happen in 11 months, and so far a lot has happened in Zimbabwe, but those who keep their finger on the pulse knew that you can not rest this year before something else happens.

Before the last rituals could be released by 2018, a fat lady had to sing. Perhaps more precisely, Jah Prayzah had to sing.

It seems that Jah Prayzah has transformed from ordinary music into something that was worse than words. Worse texts could decipher the future.

Almost exactly this time last year his song was the country's toast that stood on the edge of history after a dramatic few weeks.

Regardless of whether it was a prophecy or not, Kutonga Kwaro will forever be the soundtrack of that time, and now, when he returns once again to regain his crown, many certainly wonder what prophecies are in his a new 13-track effort, Chitubu.

The next song Dangerous sees the return of the more well-known Jah Prayzah.

One can imagine that Jah Prayzah, dressed in camouflage, pushes thousands of Masoja into a craze with a song whose beat rages at a feverish pace.

However exciting it may be for those who participate in Jah Prayzah's concerts, it must be admitted that they have heard this song from Jah before. It is a path that has been trampled in the past thanks to songs like Ndini Ndamubata.

The repetitive nature of such songs is one that appears on the whole album. This will be a problem for most critical listeners of the album, but it will be an easier swallow for followers of Jah Prayzah.

This fast pace is replicated again on Chigunduru later in the album, although on this occasion it is a song of better quality. But even in this song there will still be accusations of the repetitive nature of Jah Prayzah's music and listening to this album, this criticism is important.

Nothing can be said to have heard such songs. After listening to one, you've heard them all.

Deep reflections on life are good, but sometimes all that people have to do is dance.

While this album has layers that previous efforts did not have, the album is still full of songs that are potential hits. In this spirit, songs like KuMahumbwe and Kide will be tearing up dance floors in this holiday season.
