Mr. Eazi to help 100 upcoming artists with the launch of Empawa – Music

Mr. Eazi officially launched its Empawa program, an initiative designed to help talent across Africa by sponsoring their music videos.

The Musicu Banku, who recently released his second studio project, "Lagos in London" is moving into a new phase with his career, which includes providing a platform for new talents to get to know the wider community through music videos.

At an exclusive event on Tuesday, November 20, Mr. Eazi collected the members of the press managers, label managers and talent managers, where he presented the inspiration behind his Empawa project and presented the timetable of the events.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the project, says Mr. Eazi

"Since 2016, I was blessed to do music not only relevant to Nigeria, but also to the world. Then I was involved in Technique and one company asked people to submit technological ideas, out of 440 people who submitted ideas, they brought it to 12 and I was one of the 12.

About 4-6 weeks, they taught us everything and some things I took from there such as "trunk" and "data mining" are what I put on the music.

While performing the program, a friend who knew that I had used music for the university paid for a dance video of about 300pounds and gave me a birthday gift and began to grow viral.

In essence, people financed my videos, such as "Skin Weight" for example, she was shot for about $ 1,000 (around N300,000), if someone did not record the video or sponsored the video "Skin Tight", I will not Be here. & # 39; & # 39;

Speaking further, he explained that he had built a policy where he does not collect any form of payment for functions with African artists

"Since 2016, I made it a point to engage in CSR, and music and not, there is no one in Nigeria, who will say that Mr. Eazi made a song about me and I paid for any amount. For Nigerian artists, I do not charge for features.

We have a poor sponsor for six videos in the past two years … so I decided to make it big and formal. & # 39; & # 39;

According to the criteria adopted in the selection of artists, explains Mr. Eazi,

Mr. addressed the press in the launch of Empathy Africa (Twitter / Mr. Ezhi)

& # 39; & # 39; The artist can simply stand up for a small, releasing video by himself, rapping or singing and winning a big one, gaining the chance to be one of the 100 artists to be financed for a music video selected by my own internal team and top industry professionals.

The minimum spending of this video of 100 winners is N300,000 for video, then there will be marketing both digital and print.

Top 10 of these 100 artists will be transferred to South Africa from 4 February to 4 March 2019 with similar Diplo, Guilty Betz, EKLI, Sarz and other professionals. They will get work with top talent and receive mentoring from business lawyers. "

The choice of Instagram to select winners

& # 39; & # 39; It is only through Instagram because of its simplicity and reach, especially with the way you can follow all the posts targeted to you with the hashtag [#empawa100] it's being used. & # 39; & # 39;

Asked how he intends to finance and maintain the program

"Everything I do is good thinking, in Africa there is not much structure that works in some way in our favor, because we are now more entrepreneurs, not just artists.

This is my initiative, in the funding section, we have BetPower as sponsors, and since the beginning I got a lot of research from companies and even labels, but we are careful with labels because we want these artists to own their content, even though we will record them their videos, own their content 100%. No one owns my content, I own everything and that's what I love about them.

I am a multinational ambassador for BETPower, betting company on mobile phones, by joining together, we need to push the jackpot called BETPower Jackpot and push the BJPower jackpot.

Press, label owners and managers gathered at the launch of Empava in Lagos on November 20, 2018 (Pulse)

I was supposed to get a percentage, but instead of taking a lump sum, I said I would not take it, instead of getting a percentage of the jackpot and pushing it, and now I brought that percentage down and will be called Empava, so now I will called Empawa Jackets and 10% of the total revenue will be funded by the Empawa Foundation.

On the logistics side, we have a partnership with dedicated people who are looking at these songs and ensuring they push and work on a partnership with demand-side platforms (DSPs), such as Apple Music and Spotify, to become a playlist on these platforms for artists. "

Mr. Eazi completed the session informing the public that his label, Banku Music, simply bought a park with around 8,000 people in the UK, and the top 10 artists from the 100 winners will join the festival later in the year.

Entries for Empawa a program that has been launched in seven African countries [Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia] will end on December 15, 2018.
