NeNe, 50, explained in the Bravo program that Gregg first experienced the symptoms associated with this disease in May. "It was Cinco de Mayo," she said on Sunday. "Gregg was in excruciating pain, I never saw him say," They hurt me so much, the pain is so bad in my stomach. "And finally he said to me," Take me to the hospital. "
That's where Gregga was diagnosed. He said he had to undergo emergency surgery to remove part of the intestine. "We just were not ready to hear it," said NeNe.
Gregg said: "I think the most frightening thing about it is when we got to the hospital, and the doctor said that we have to do surgery with you today, or you will not be able to do it."
Although it was the lowest point for Gregg, he said he was ready mentally to say goodbye. "I went and prayed to God and told him," If it's time, let's go, "Gregg said." I'm not afraid of death, I do not want to go. If my work ends here, take care of them, let's go. "
Sitting with his family and close friends in the circle of prayer, Gregg also said he wrote NeNe in case he did not survive. "I wrote a note to my doctor and told him to give it to me if I had not left," Gregg says, tearing. "Writing this letter was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life."
Fortunately, Gregg survived this operation. The result inspired him to continue his journey. "You never know what's in you until you get to that door," Gregg said. "I never thought I had to fight cancer in my life, now I want to beat the ass of a cancer."
"You were my light," said Gregg NeNe. "I could not do it without you, I could not … I would not even try it, so I want to thank you, honey."
"They cut out my colon, my heart became bigger," he added. "I do not need this, it's gone. It was infected."
NeNe and Gregg have been married since 1997 and have two sons: Bryson and Brentt. In 2010, the couple split up and then divorced the following year – only to remarry in June 2013. During the ceremony, which was filmed for her spinoffs, I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding.
In September, NeNe revealed that Gregg "really, very well" after a five-hour procedure said that they hope it is his "last operation towards full recovery".
On Sunday, the premiere opened up to the emotional challenges of watching Gregg through it. "It is very difficult to take care of someone," she said. "I feel that if I fall apart, Gregg and Brentt will be done, I just feel that I have to be strong."
As brave as NeNe, she said she had weak periods. "I put on a brave face, but I have my moments in my bedroom, usually in solitude," she admitted. "I had many moments in my car. If my car could talk, it would look like this:" This bitch cries too much. "
Through all this she turned to prayer. "To go through something like this, you have to pray for strength … Basically, we're going to pray for healing, consolation and understanding," she said.
"There is a risk that the cancer will come back, but thank God that he caught him when he caught him," continued NeNe. "He could not be here."
