Researchers think they've found a super-earth nearby, after decades of searching

Scientists could finally discover an Earth-like exoplanet just six light-years away from us, trying to prove its existence for decades.

Although we realize that there are really an infinite number of planets and stars outside of our own atmosphere, it is still difficult to understand. Besides, despite how much is there to find, we have not discovered much. We are still discovering more about the planets in our solar system, not to mention everything else.

The only thing scientists want to avoid is the proof that we are not alone in the universe. Many of us may want to leave this stone alone, but for the most part we want to know, right? It seems unlikely that there is nobody else there. In fact, it is almost arrogant to assume that the Earth is the only planet in the entire universe that can support intelligent life.

For some time now we know that there is a star, other than the sun, not far from Earth. It's called the Barnard Star. Barnard's star is six light-years away and is much smaller and older than our own sun. It's on a red dwarf, so it's not so bright and it's only sixth in size. Scientists have tried to prove for decades that there is an Earth-type planet that revolves around the Barnard star.

Ignasi Ribas and his team at the Spanish Institut de Ciècies de l & # 39; Espai now have 99% confidence that the planet exists, according to National Geographic. They monitored Barnard's Star and confirmed periodic vibrations. Interrupting means that the gravity of the nearby planet works on the star and appears to appear every 233 days. Other scientists are not convinced and believe that vibrations can be caused by stellar places or active regions.

Speculation about what the surface and climate of the planet may be is not promising. It is predicted that the temperature on the theoretical exoplanet will be around -270 degrees, so it will not be able to sustain life as we know it. While the potential discovery is exciting, even though the planet would share many similarities with the Earth, it is unlikely that some of us can jump the ship and start a new life in the future.
