Marvin Vetori wants to cross the line in a championship match after his main UFC victory at ESPN 19
Vetori (16-4-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC), who defeated Jack Jack Hermanson (21-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) by a unanimous decision in Saturday’s main row in the middle category at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, originally called up Paulo Costa after his victory in search of a title shot.
However, not long after that, he changed his mind and said that the fight for the title should be on deck.
“Before I called him ‘Fighters’, but to be honest with you, (explosively) ‘Fighters’. He just came out of a crazy loss. Why would I even fight him? “Vetori told reporters, including MMA unkunki, at the post-fight press conference. “I want to go straight to the title, man. Bee to be honest, I like the fight, but I feel like the first five have no opposition. There is no real opposition.
“(Aredred) Canonier just lost, Darren Till is – I do not even think he is in the top five -” Borachinja “just lost brutally, and Jack was number 4 (Robert) Whitaker wants to enjoy Christmas with his kids, “Don’t blame him, he just doesn’t seem to want to fight for the title.”
Vetori served as a substitute opponent against Hermanson in their match, and finished with a strong performance over five rounds to win. He has now won four consecutive fights, and is likely to find himself ranked high at 185 185 in the coming days.
The victory for the Italian was a big springboard to his ultimate goal: Rematch with Israel Adesania (20-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC). He fought the reigning UFC champion until the UFC split at FOX 29 in April 2018 and has since expressed the belief that he deserves the victory, which he will secure in the second round.
“Israel is full (explosive),” Vetori said. “He was like, ‘Oh, I think I’ll never see Marvin again, he’ll never get the title.’ So guess what kind of mother (explicit)? I am here. So he thinks he understands all that. He has not understood anything. I know its true colors. I met him several times. I fought with him. I knew his true colors. “I love that fight.”
Vetori dismissed the idea that Adesanja would follow the movement in the light heavyweight division and predicted that Glover Teixeira would win the title against champion Jan Blahovic.
If Adesanja really hits the 5 205 belt, that means Vetori will have to fight someone else.
UFC President Dana White was introduced to the idea of fighting the Veterans against Costa (13: 1 MMA, 5: 1 UFC), and although he did not commit to doing so, his interest was obvious.
“I love that fight,” White told a news conference after the fight. “I love him. See you (if we succeed), but I love that fight.”
