49ers formally rule out West's showdown on 'Monday Night Football' in West 49s

The San Francisco 49ers will be without tight end George Kittel, who will miss tonight's match against the seaside as he continues to deal with knee and ankle injuries. Ross Divley will replace Keithle in the starting squad.

With the status of Keith in question leading to the game, the 49ers activated tight end Garrett Jelek outside of the Reservation / physically unable to perform the roster leading to their "Monday Night Football" showdown with the Seattle Seahawks. To make room for Selek on the active roster, the Niners dropped a corner to Dont Johansson.

Selek was put on the PUP list on August 31 after undergoing offensive surgery on his back and has been out ever since. He returned to exercise last week and noticed last Saturday that he was still spoiled by rust, but was advancing.

"I still feel like I'm not as fast in the game as I normally am," said Jelek, via the San Francisco Chronicle, "but I'm definitely there. My feet feel good. My back feels good. "

Jelek is the second longest player on the 49ers roster, arriving in the city in 2012 as a raw free agent out of Michigan. In 86 regular-season games with San Francisco, the 31-year-old has a total of 82 receptions for 1,104 yards and 12 catches.

While the 49ers still have a few weapons, Keithl's loss is significant given that he has more than twice as many roles as the team's second leading receiver. Except for the quarterback, Imi Garopolo looks more to receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who caught seven passes for 112 yards and a draw in the final outing of San Francisco, a Week 9 win over Arizona.
