Inside, it's a similar story to the exterior, with subtle updates to the standard A8 interior. Subjectively, there is precious little room for improvement in what remains one of the best interiors in any car at any cost. But with its unique carbon fiber and aluminum hinges, the new S8 manages to provide extra appeal.
Expensive looks and pleasing touch materials combine with clear and clear digital instruments, as well as a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment features, stunning multifunction steering wheel and highly supportive sport seats to provide a true driving environment. .
In real terms, the big Audi is brutally powerful with serious step-off qualities and unstoppable emergency features in equipment. The Brown engine is the undisputed star of the show, with a sort of sank performance to propel it from standstill to 62mph in a mere 3.9 seconds.
Eight-speed eight-speed automatic gearbox and quattro four-wheel-drive system also play an integral part in explosive acceleration and the ability to cruise at the highest shelves. Together with the engine, they form an intoxicating combination that is further enhanced by a convincingly realistic synthesized soundtrack released through the speakers.
However, as efficient as it is at full load in the Sport mode, the S8's engine is also competitively smooth on the more measured gas inlets in a completely more relaxed Comfort + mode. In city driving, it is remarkably flexible even in Eco mode, where the cylinder on demand closes a bank of cylinders, essentially turning the engine into a four-cylinder unit in short periods.
The most significant thing about the new S8, however, is the added agility brought about by the adoption of Audi's predictable active suspension and all-wheel-drive system. As well as modifying the assist acting on the front wheel steering, it also adds rear wheel steering function, which rotates in the opposite direction to the front wheels at low speed and in the same direction at higher speeds.
The result is a new level of communication and response. Despite its generous dimensions, you can customize the new S8 with extra precision and confidence in every situation. On more challenging roads, there is a welcoming, vibrant and neutral character to the great Audi that has always been a fixture to its predecessor. With the predictable suspension function able to change the damping characteristics up to 18 times per second and the ability to lean at corners in a motorcycle-like manner, the new S8 is more compact and fluid. Trademark direction stabilization has also been improved, adding stability at higher speeds.
An additional advantage of adopting the rear wheel steering wheel is the reduction of the turning speed at low speeds, a development that facilitates maneuverability during parking and low-speed urban driving. Primary driving quality has also been improved. However, the S8 is still not resolved with larger transverse slopes and ridges.
