The latest tidbits of information have already given us the impression that Nintendo has a successful week in retail – the new Pokemon games were reportedly the fourth most-purchased point on Black Friday, and Switch was the best-selling console of Cyber Monday – but now we have another confirmation in the form of particularly impressive milestones achieved by the company.
Nintendo confirmed that Switch became the best-selling console in US history for the five-day Thanksgiving period to Cyber Monday, even surpassing the sale of a funny popular Wii console that dominated the retail space about a decade ago. Moreover, the large number of sales also means that Switch has previously experienced its best ever one week in sales and in the United States.
According to Nintendo's internal sales figures, US buyers spent more than $ 250 million on Nintendo's products during this period, proving recent comments by Niger's President Nintendo Reyga Fils-Aime about the importance of the holiday season to be really true. This figure is the result of the sale of Switch, 3DS, NES and SNES Classic editions, as well as games and accessories.
Interestingly, despite the second year of Switch, it looks a bit less extravagant compared to new games and the exciting developments of the first, the total hardware sales in the region increased by 45% during Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday in 2018 compared with the same date in 2017. We expect the Console Console sales to have a significant decline over the past week, and it will be particularly interesting to see an updated unit sales for several months; maybe Nintendo could close in its 20 million target for the financial year after all?
Do you, or someone you know, take all the goodies associated with Nintendo during the sale? Do you think this success will continue during the rest period? Give us a comment.
