Morricone, who wrote the music for several films of Tarantino, was quoted in an interview in the German edition of Playboy. He claims, inter alia, that the American director is "unoriginal", "moron" and "there is no real director."
But now Morricone denies that the conversation took place and threatened with legal action. The Italian composer contacted his lawyer and checked if the newspaper could be sued.
"I did not talk to the German Playboy and I never called Tarantino, nor did I say that I think his films are rubbish.
