Michael C Hall claims that "he is not that heterosexual".

Actor Dexter was married three times, and all women, but he admits he has a "spectrum" in terms of his sexuality.

The 47-year-old told The Daily Beast: "I am heterosexual, but if there were a percentage, I would say that I was not heterosexual.

"I think I played theEcee [in Cabaret] I told me to throw a bunch of wide open doors, because I pictured this character as a pan-sexual one. Yes, just like every evening I did with Michael Stuhlbarg. I think I have always been in fluidity in terms of my sexuality. "

However, Hall added that he had never had an intimate relationship with a man and said, "I mean John Cameron Mitchell is attracted to me when I saw Hedwig, but no, I'm usually heterosexual."

The star married her wife Morgan Macgregor in 2016 after four years of dating.

Earlier, he was married to actress Amy Spanger from 2002 to 2006, and also with Jennifer Carpenter, his co-worker Dexter – yes, the woman who played his sister – from 2008 to 2010.

In his career, Michael played a lot of gay or queer characters, the most famous David Fisher in Six Feet Under and Hedwig in Hedwig And The Angry Inch.

And though he thinks ordinary people can play LGBTQ + characters, he said: "When I was in Six Feet Under, I realized that I was a heterosexual man playing a homosexual role that was unique in the television landscape.

"I was also aware that considering things and maybe they are still so much that a few gay actors do the job, it would expose them in a certain way, and this irony has not lost me.
