SINGAPORE – A man was arrested Wednesday (August 7th) for allegedly setting fire to national flags in Singapore.
Police were alerted to the burning state flags found on block 774, Crescent Woodland, at 12.40pm on Monday.
Officers from Woodland Police Division identified the suspect through field investigations and closed-circuit television images before arresting the 25-year-old on Wednesday.
According to police, the suspect, believed to be involved in similar cases in the Woodlands, is expected in court to be charged with aggravated arson.
Convicts can be jailed for up to seven years and can also be fined.
