In the past, the Type S prefix signified the fiercest and most powerful versions of the Acura car, but the last such machine came out of assembly ten years ago. Recently, the company decided to revive this glorious tradition, and now they are ready to confirm their intention: the Acura Type S concept car is ready for debut
In fact, we are faced with the prototype of the next-generation Acura TLX second-generation sedan, which will simply have a "full" top version. Effective four-door operation was created in the California studio Acura Design Bureau. It retained the corporate identity of current models as a pentagonal radiator grille or optical head consisting of several sections. But the designers did a good job on the profile.
A large front overlay, typical of a trans-engine car, has not faded, but the concept is pleased with the dynamic silhouette: compared to the current four-door, the interior has been shifted backwards, the hood has become longer, and additional windows have appeared in the rear pillars of the roof. Judging by the recently lit images, all this will remain with the Acura TLX series model.
Features of the "S" Type S concept – wide track, massive wheel arches, aerodynamic body with body fibers and 21-inch wheels. In addition, developers have announced Brembo four-clip all-wheel drive brakes. But the drive is still quiet.
The second-generation Acura TLX is expected to be released in 2020, and the powerful version won't last long. The company promises that in the next two years the Type S modification will come in two models: according to initial information, the second car will be the new large MDX crossover, whose debut is also around the corner.
