QNAP presents the NAS TS-2888X ready for artificial intelligence

QNAP introduces the new NAS TS-2888X, a comprehensive solution for AI (Artificial Intelligence) that combines reliable mass storage and a ready-to-use software environment to improve AI flows with high economic returns. Built on Intel Xeon processors in the next generation with up to 18 cores and a hybrid storage architecture with eight hard drives and 20 high-performance SSDs (including 4 U.2), the TS-2888X also supports the installation of four high-quality video cards and launches the development package AI with QNAP.

The TS-2888X integrates everything that is needed for artificial intelligence machines, helping organizations quickly and easily implement AI applications.

"Compared to a typical AI workstation, the TS-2888X combines computing power with a huge memory capacity to significantly reduce latency and speed up data transfer and eliminate network congestion," says David TSAO, QNAP Product Manager. "By integrating hardware and software focused on AI, it reduces the time and complexity of deployment and management of artificial intelligence tasks, making the TS-2888X an ideal solution for most organizations," he adds.

TS-2888X is built around the optimization of artificial intelligence. Equipped with a powerful Intel Xeon W processor with 18 cores, 36 threads and frequencies up to 4.5 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology, the TS-2888X supports up to 512 GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM RAM to ensure fast loading of workflows and processing speed.

The TS-2888X supports the main video accelerators from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel, with eight PCIe slots and a 2000 Wpl Platinum system with a power of 2000 W, enabling the construction of up to four best graphics cards for extraordinary computing power. To meet scalability and performance requirements at the same time, the TS-2888X uses a hybrid storage architecture supporting eight 3.5-inch SATA 6 Gbps hard drives, 16-inch SATA 6Gb / s SSDs and four NVMe U.2 SSDs PCIe Gen3 x4 with fast inputs / outputs to enable SSD buffering or self-leveling benefits for applications requiring performance.

TS-2888X introduces a comprehensive enterprise software environment that facilitates the installation and maintenance of artificial intelligence applications.

Along with the exclusive QuAI – AI design kit for rapid construction, training and optimization of artificial intelligence models operating on QNAP, NAS-Container Station is powered by a range of open-source tools and architectures (including Caffe, TensorFlow, AlexNet, FaceNet and many others ) for AI workflows available to the user.

The TS-2888X also has flexible backup and snapshot tools that ensure data security while enabling effective recovery in the event of unpleasant events. Being a versatile artificial intelligence solution, the TS-2888X greatly simplifies the implementation of artificial intelligence while offering an economically viable solution.
