On October 28th World Health Organization marks International Influenza Awareness Day. Over the years, this international day has been dedicated to complex international campaigns, drawing attention to influenza virus infection.
The main goal of this campaign is to consolidate the progress made in the campaign from the previous year and aims to distribute specific materials and messages on this topic. The importance of vaccination of risk groups is emphasized: pregnant women, the elderly, medical professionals, patients with chronic pathology.
Influenza is a contagious disease caused by the flu virus. Symptoms can be mild or severe. The most common symptoms are: fever, nasal congestion, sore throat, muscle aches, headache, cough, sneezing and fatigue. These symptoms usually set in two days after exposure to the virus and last less than a week. However, the cough can last for more than two weeks. Diarrhea and vomiting may also occur in children, but these are rare in adults. Diarrhea and vomiting also occur in the case of gastroenteritis, an illness not related to the flu, with the possibility of being mistaken for the flu. It is clear that this coronavirus pandemic has changed us all, from small to large.
The pandemic is, in itself, a significant event, whether we are directly involved, in the first line, in the hospital, in direct contact with patients or we are at a greater distance from them, isolated in our homes. This type of event carries a fantastic emotional burden, sometimes difficult to control, with psychological repercussions. All countries are deteriorating. Undoubtedly, there is a constant concern for the future, for the way our lives can be affected, an irrational fear of others, of the fact that it can make us sick.
Government of Romania started a place in the campaign to fight the new coronavirus. The message changes and no longer follows the central urge “He is wearing a mask. The main message on the spot is “We are isolating the virus!” There are several sequences in the clip in which we are called to follow some basic rules, to stop the spread COVID-19.
The ad tells us to “wash our hands”, “avoid hugs and handshakes”, use “card payment” and avoid “contact with common areas”.
We also recommend disinfecting your hands as often as possible and keeping your phone screen as repaired as possible.
The same message – “Put the virus in isolation” – is adapted for radio and online advertising.
Earlier, the government campaign launched two ads – both with the message “Wear a mask, show that you care”. One taught us how to wear a mask effectively, and the other showed different social categories of people, all wearing masks to protect themselves from the virus.
