Photographer Rui Pinhero debuted on November 30 the exhibition "Picos e Lobos", at the Dos Prazeres Gallery.
Located in Caleta, Madeira, the Parish of Prazeri marked the first contact of the photographer with the island of Madeira, the impression that is transferred to the photographs to be displayed.
Issues such as "biodiversity, traditions, emigration (and the return of those who left), popular architecture (folk), as opposed to modern architecture and how it all coexists spontaneously" are the focus of this photographic show, which takes place only weeks after a photographer's visit to the Madeira territory.
The images also seek to convey "the way in which large infrastructures attack the natural landscape, the impact of recent natural disasters and the innate regeneration force of the island and its inhabitants, ordering the territory (or lack thereof) and efforts to promote good environmental and sustainable practices ".
This exhibition marks the 10th anniversary of the Dos Prazeres Gallery. It will be open until February 3, 2019.
