Moody's Agency is improving Madeira's view of debt in the financial market

The financial rating agency Moody's announced today that the outlook for the long-term debt rating of the Ba3 Autonomous Region is better than "stable" to "positive". The autonomous region of the Azores also benefits from the favorable appearance of its rating (Ba1).

The rating agency explains that three factors have contributed to the autonomous region's assessments: the expectation of a systemic risk reduction resulting from the change in Portugal's (Baa3) rating outlook from Portugal on 9 August; the growth of the Portuguese economy and fiscal improvements, which help strengthen the credit profile of the two autonomous regions; and the commitment to support the central government of these regions.
