Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 6) The number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines rose by 1,768 on Sunday, bringing the total to 439,834 nationwide, the health ministry said.
The latest review, however, excludes data from 12 testing labs that failed to submit their results on time.
The case bulletin showed that Quezon City had the highest increase in infections nationwide with 112, followed by Laguna with 94, Rizal with 90, Davao City with 71 and Bengue with 69.
Recovers also jumped to 408,634 as DOH reported that another 9,062 patients had been cleared of the virus. Twenty-nine new deaths were confirmed, bringing the death toll to 8554.
This means that the number of currently sick patients in the country is now 22,646 or 5.1% of the total infected.
Following the final validation, DOH said 10 cases were misreported because the recoveries also proved to be deaths, while three duplicates were removed from the total balance, including one death.
