In 2004, for the first time in the atmosphere of Mars, signs of methane gas were found.
Since then there have been regular measurements to confirm that gas exists in some places on Mars, and is now re-found. The European Space Agency (ESA) writes in a press release.
ESA believes that methane gas comes from defective zones on Mars, where two tectonic plates decompose.
