Eindhoven will make the name of the city of lights completely true in the coming week. On Saturday evening the annual GLOW festival of lights will take place at the Philips stadium in Eindhoven, an event that combines art, technology, design and light.
Mayor John Jorritsma from Eindhoven opens the festival, which was held for the first time in 2006. After the premiere, the premiere of the light show "GAME: ON" takes place. The theme of Glow 2018 is Shadows & Light, after the song Joni Mitchell.
For the first time, the festival organizes a photo contest on Instagram. The bright graphic "Something Blue" by Kari Kola at the Pullman Eindhoven Cocagne will be visible up to 2 kilometers high and 20 kilometers from Eindhoven. The most spectacular photo from the "most unique location" where you can see "Something Blue", will probably win the prize.
As in previous years, a 5-kilometer long pedestrian route was marked out in the city center, with 35 artistic projects from the Netherlands and abroad. Last year, a free event attracted 740,000 visitors to Eindhoven.
