At least ten people were arrested in Almere after the mayor marked the city center as a security risk area as a precautionary measure.
In this way, the municipality wanted to prevent rival groups of young people from competing with each other.
Among the prisoners are three young people from Almere at the age of 15, 17 and 18 years. Nine were arrested because they had weapons.
According to the mayor, social media Friday night demanded a few days to reach the center of Almere. Several people said they wanted to come and put pictures with knives and other weapons.
Because of the free market for Royal Night, it was in any case busy. By designating the center as a security risk area, police could investigate people without any specific suspicion. That measure expired at 2 am.
