He pointed out that the population should be sensitive to the main allergy symptomswhich may be a history of asthma, e.g. repeated sneezing, nasal obstruction, abundant mucus flow and itching in the eyes, ears and throat, to timely go with a family doctor to confirm the diagnosis and start treatment, in addition to control pictures of infection which can be more and more repetitive.

The specialist has explained that asthma is characterized by chronic bronchitis and symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, difficulty in breathing, tightness in the chest and pain in the chest or in the abdominal cavity; If these problems are not resolved, these problems will be more frequent, difficult to control and may even lead to death.

According to estimates by the World Health Organization in Mexico, around 8.5 million people suffer from asthma, and in the world this figure falls from 235 to 300 million, and suffering that increasesso 100 million people are expected to be added over the next 20 years.

This season there is an increase of nearly 20 percent of patients with allergic rhinitis, i.e. They have an allergic reaction in the nasal mucous membrane and develop asthma.

Dr Canseco Raymundo stressed that there are several causes that cause allergy, including genetics, because it affects more firstborn children and people with a history of parents or family members who suffer from them; also because of environmental pollution, spending a large part of the day or living in small spaces, suffering respiratory infectionsThe type of virus or runny nose is often and the most common in our country, dust mites, microscopic organisms living in accumulated dust.

He explained that the first step in diagnosing allergies is going to a family clinic in the presence of the indicated symptoms or risk factors; The doctor will conduct the hearing, and if suspected, send it to your hospital for various tests, both blood and skin.

In the Allergy and Immunology Service of the Special Hospital of the National Medical Center of La Raza, several contact tests are carried out using microdroplets that expose the patient to 40 or more types of substances that cause allergies. Reactions, both through urticaria and a certain type of inflammation, are those that cause allergies to the patient, and treatment and recommendations will be offered to prevent their development and complications.

He added that in this service CMN La Raza, which serves beneficiaries from the north of Mexico and various entities in the country in 2017. They performed over 6,000 skin tests and gave 7 361 allergy treatments, and from January to September This year they conducted 4,852 tests and 5 182 treatments, which will significantly increase with the arrival of the coldest months of the year.
