Premier League gossip: Fernandes drops huge Manchester United hint, Maddison to sign for 'big club'

Fernandes is back in our view today as he reminds everyone of his desire to play in England.

At this point, it looks like Manchester United will benefit most from the deal, but there are a number of other clubs who are also interested in him. It will be an interesting one in January or next summer.

Meanwhile Brendan Rodgers has spoken about Harry Maguire and James Maddison.

And Jose Mourinho is set to reignite his rivalry with Barcelona as things turn sour in Madrid.

All the latest gossip is below.

Fernandes reiterates his desire to play in England

Everyone's favorite Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been talking about his future again.

He was linked with United this summer but the club never acted on their initial interest, while Tottenham reportedly had a bid rejected.

Fernandes said: “Of course you are happy. I have the desire to play England, this is the league I want to play, there are other clubs from other countries and I have the ambition to get there, but when I came to Portugal I had the ambition to play at Sporting, in a great club, and I'm still delighted.

"Regardless of whether or not it is in the best shape, I believe we will quickly return to that desired form."

Rodgers makes United admission

Brendan Rodgers says he understands why players are turning down the chance to join United.

The Leicester boss lost Harry Maguire to United in the summer and James Maddison is also linked with Old Trafford.

And Rodgers admitted: “I was fortunate enough to be at Liverpool where I understood the draw of that club type. Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the biggest clubs by far.

”Other great clubs, big clubs, but those two, in terms of worldwide status, are above the other clubs.

“Whenever a player gets an opportunity to go to a club like that, to experience that type of pressure, that expectation – and of course there'll be a financial side to it as well, let's be real – as a package in a short career is probably something that is too hard to turn down.

"I understand it, I get it."

Florentino Perez 'ready to appoint Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid'

Mourinho is set to end his football hiatus according to the latest reports.

The Portuguese manager has not had a job in management since he was sacked by United last December but reports claim he is set for a surprise return to Real Madrid.

The Sun report Perez is ready to turn to Mourinho if Zidane is sacked.
