Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has compared his team’s ups and downs in the current season to that of marriage and provided worrying information about the tendon injury suffered by Fabinho.

The Reds made two wins out of two to start their Champions League campaign with goals from Diogo Iota and Mohamed Salah.

Iota’s strike was the club’s 10,000th goal in its history, but the celebration was diminished after Fabinho appeared in the middle of an emergency center with a hamstring injury.

Speaking of BT Sport after the match, Klopp he said: “Hard game, very stormy. Tribute to Midtjylland.

“They used the first game as an appropriate lesson. Tonight they were amazing against the ball. They get my full respect for that.

“It’s a bit like marriage. In good times or bad, it’s not a bad time, it’s a tough time, and now we have to stick together more than ever. The boys did it.

“We should have made the halftime change with Jordan Henderson – he said I’m fine, but at the moment you have to be responsible and the plan before the game was to give him 45 minutes to be okay for West Ham. .

“It was a tough game to play. “But a 2-0 victory is fine, so that’s it – let’s move on.”

Fabinho’s injury further burdens Liverpool’s defensive lines, and currently Eloel Matip is sidelined, and Virgil van Dyke is expected to miss the entire season.

“That is exactly the last thing we needed,” the German admitted.

“I know he felt a tendon and that’s not good. He said he could play, but without sprints, which does not help. “See, we will know more after the scan.”
