"Such rapid growth, germination and growth of the teeth, the maturation of internal organs and the creation of the immune system require a sufficient amount of vitamin D, calcium and trace elements, such as magnesium and zinc, which are necessary for the absorption of calcium.In comparison to other minerals, calcium in our the body (bones and blood) is very high – about 2 percent of the total body weight, and therefore 1-1.5 kg. Without vitamin D, the body can not absorb calcium, and therefore the amount of calcium absorbed by the bones depends not only on the ingredients meal, but also on the amount of vitamin D in the body "- says J. Barzdenytė.

The calcium child needs four times more

According to the survey, almost one-fifth of parents are convinced that a child aged 1-3 years needs calcium the same as an adult and only 2.8 percent. He thinks that this element for a small child needs four times more – exactly as it really is.

According to the pediatrician, calcium is needed not only for bones or teeth – it is simply irreplaceable for the vital functions of the child's body. Calcium deficiency may be the cause of not one serious illness, because calcium regulates heart rate, is involved in blood clotting, reduces irritability of the nervous system. This element is also an integral part of bones, teeth, hair, nails and blood. It is necessary for the activity of nerves, cardiovascular and cardiac systems, metabolism. Calcium regulates muscle spasms and also involves allergic reactions in the body.

J. Barzdenytė points out that newborns need 400 mg calcium daily for six months and 600 mg calcium daily for children under five years old. We need proper nutrition for the child so that the child has the right amount of calcium.

According to the doctor, a lot of calcium has dairy products. For example, half a cup of yoghurt without additives contains 207 mg of calcium, one piece of cheese about 112 mg, glass spinach – about 60 mg and a piece of all grain bread – about 24 mg of this precious substance. Cheeses are also good for cheese, but you should avoid sweetened curd or yogurt, which is actually a source of not so much useful substances as sweets. Recommended bertoletia, almonds, sesame seeds, as well as legumes – white and red beans, chickpeas. Various products are included in the children's menu depending on the age of the child. Healthy nuts can be too difficult for a child if all the teeth have not grown – the child can choke. But if we break it and mix it with cracklings, we will add berries to remove, it will be tasty and healthy not only for the child, but also for the whole family.

Vitamin D helps to absorb calcium

Vitamin D – Calcium is an essential companion if you want calcium to be directed in the body if necessary. Vitamin D ensures proper child development, correct posture and healthy tooth formation. Even 39% of interviewees think that a child aged 1-3 years needs the same amount of vitamin D as an adult.
