Returning to the Euroleague, Berlin club ALBA has announced that it will give up dance services this season.
The leaders of ALBA claim that this is not in line with the team's vision.
"The ALBA dancers have done a great job in the last 25 years and have been nominated several times for the best in Europe. The dancers worked hard and used their abilities just to entertain the fans.
However, we came to the conclusion that the dancers during the breaks were no longer in line with our club vision. The arena has developed the view that women dance during breaks, and men play basketball. This is inappropriate. Our strongest girls' team advanced to the second Bundesliga last season and look forward to winning the women's championship in the next few years. "- says ALBA CEO Marko Baldi.
Baldi also expressed a desire in the future not only for men's basketball players to be role models for children but also for women.
