The Banksy exhibition in Milan was inaugurated. After coup de théatre from Sotheby's (London, October 5, 2018) famous writer English for the first time in a public museum in the world, MUDEC. on Visual protest opened until April 14, 2019.
The exhibition "Visual protest, the art of Banksy" -al Moodets from November 21, 2018 to April 14, 2019- did not receive authorization from the Pest Management, a person who manages the public relations of Banksy. This is not news, never before, no exhibition has an official recognition, in fact, a proposal that characterizes its artistic aims to destroy any kind of institutionalization and commodification.
L & # 39;process the exhibition, designed by curator Gianni Mercurio, follows the academic principle that will offer a coherent and organic vision for the creative genesis of the artist. The first curtain opens to one introductory part which puts the expressive roots of writer in the years from 1960 to 1980: especially from the Situation Movement, to ferments from 1968, to street art New Yorker from the last twenty years of the twentieth century.
Banksy's work greatly reflects the enzymes of those years, especially in relation to détournement, the artistic result by which the pre-existing work changes in meaning in an opposite or antagonistic sense. The experimental attitude and attention to urban realities lead the artist to deal in parallel three main themes such as rebellion – towards the cultural hegemony of television, advertising, churches, schools and museums, war and consumption. Specially, the exhibition parts follow this sequence and merge two special multimedia spaces in which a documentary for the artist is projected – with the participation of Butterfly and David Comet, one of Banksi's largest collectors, and realized for the exhibition – and a special focus on the world's places on murals. In addition to 80 works including pictures and prints numbered, which come from the most accredited and certified private collections, are present at the exhibition 60 covers of vinyl and musical CDs made by him – such as Blur or Paris Hilton – and one forty souvenirs between lithographs, stickers, prints, magazines, fanzines and flyer promotional.
