Churches should stop collecting tithing because they are Old Testaments specially prescribed by God to the Israelites, said the Prophet, the Wonderful Prince.
The Holy Prophet last week told The Sunday Mail Religion that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ removed "old ways" such as tithing.
The Wonderful Prophet said he did not collect tithes and offerings, adding that the preachers used them to earn money. He said the preachers used Malachi 3:10 to take money from the congregations.
This verse reads: "Bring the whole tithe into the granary, that there may be food in my house, test me in this," says the Almighty Lord, "and see if I open the curtains of heaven and pour so much blessing that there will be no place to store it ".
However, the Miracle Prophet said that this verse should be contextualized with Malachi 1: 1, which says, "Prophecy: the Word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi."
Preacher, whose church has no name, but is "a collection of other heirs," said that Jesus did not survive tithing, but people willingly support his service.
He referred to Luke 8: 1-3, who says, "Then Jesus traveled from one city to another, preaching the good news of the kingdom of God, twelve were with him, and some women who were healed of evil spirits and diseases: Mary ( called Magdalena), from which came seven demons, Joanna, wife Chuza, manager of the house of Herod, Zuzanna, and many others, these women helped support them from their own means. "
The Wonderfrul Prophet said: "I have never collected any tithes or sacrifices since 2013. This is a true gospel because Jesus never preached that we pay tithing, it was a Jewish practice, we are not Jews, but we were pagans until the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ .
"Even Paul wrote in Ephesians 2 verses 11-16 that those who were not Jews were referred to as heathens or unclean, but the coming of Jesus Christ changed this game, because everyone who believes in the Son of God is the heir of the kingdom.
"If we are followers of Christ, why should we keep to the Old Testament teachings of tithing and sacrifice? The true gospel says that shepherds should not survive tithing, but out of the willful support of those who want to support the gospel."
The Wonderful Prophet also claimed that the baptism with water was an Old Testament practice that ended with the coming of Christ, about which John the Baptist said he was baptized with the Spirit.
He also said that Holy Communion no longer matters, because the crucifixion of Jesus's body represented bread and wine.
"It is a mistake to say yes – and yes – he is the founder of the church, because Jesus Christ is the one who founded the church. When Jesus calls someone to serve, the main emphasis should be put on his program.
"We should not concentrate on being presidents or founders of churches, it is out of them that self-immolation exudes." So many begin to call themselves spiritual fathers, "said the miracle prophet.
Other preachers did not agree with these views.
Pastor Morgan Moyo of New Gospel Ministries said there is nothing wrong with tithing, explaining: "There is no difference between the Old and the New Testaments." We use the Bible as a whole, and the tithes are still valid, because God's principles are up to this day. "
Another clergyman pointed out that Jesus in Matthew 5: 17-18 said, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, I have not come to bear them, but to fulfill them, for I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not one iota , not a single line of a pen, will not disappear from the Law until everything is done.
