Mercedes revealed the details of its latest luxury SUV, the new GLE, which includes several improvements, including an additional pair of rear seats, the latest MBUX version of the Mercedes Infotainment and a pair of improved engines.
The series starts with GLE 300d, which replaces 250d. Despite its name, it is still a 2.0-liter – a four-cylinder diesel engine with 242 hp and a torque of 500 Nm. It is able to reach 0-60 miles per hour in 7.0 seconds and will reach 46.3 mpg, emitting 162 g / km of CO2, although larger wheel sizes will increase these emissions.
For those who prefer gasoline, the Mercedes offers GLE 450 – powered by a six-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid "EQ Boost" system. The 48-volt system adds 22hp to the car's output power, giving a total of 362bhp and 500Nm of torque.
Power 450 can be 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds and 33.6 mpg will return with an emission of 191 g / km CO2.
All GLE are equipped with the latest MBUX multimedia entertainment system, distributed on two 12.3-inch displays on the dashboard and center console. It includes functions such as augmented reality navigation, which imposes directional instructions on the channel from the front camera as well as voice activation.
All cars also have 20-inch AMG alloy wheels, illuminated handles and running boards, privacy glazing, heated front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, dual-zone air conditioning and an active parking assistant.
GLE 450 adds active air suspension as well as a seven-seater package. Includes a manually folded third row and four-zone air conditioning. Optional equipment includes the highest quality Burmester sound system, keyless system, LED headlamps, wireless charging and off-road package.
