The BS6 Honda CB Shine SP will have a larger scale and updated design along with the addition of a fuel injection system
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch the BSVI version of its popular CB Shine SP on the domestic market today. The Japanese manufacturer wants to upgrade its entire lineup to meet BSVI emission standards well before the April 2020 deadline and CB Shine SP is part of this process.
The company has already made its debut in accordance with BSVI Activa 125 and has been accompanied by mechanical updates, including the addition of fuel injection and styling changes. A recently leaked document indicates that the Honda CB Shine SP in 2020 will also receive an updated drive.
It is expected to accompany the design updates, while the dimensions can also be changed in BSVI CB Shine SP. There will be a fuel injection system and further fuel economy improvements, technologies such as an engine inhibitor and a stop / start system could also be part of the package.
The BSVI Honda CB Shine SP is likely to start with a maximum power of 10.7 hp at 7,500 rpm, while the outgoing model achieves 10.16 hp at 7,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm peak torque at 5,500 rpm. min The slightly more powerful engine should provide greater flexibility.
In terms of proportions, it will be longer, taller, wider and have a longer wheelbase than the outgoing model and will be offered in two variants. The high-spec model boasts a front disc and rear drum brake, while the other has drum brakes on both ends with the mandatory CBS function.
Along with larger dimensions, it is believed that the 2020 Honda CB Shine SP has a new swingarm and the feature list can include all digital instrumentation, LED headlights, LED tail lamps and much more. Any changes can add up to around Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000 and thus expect to cost around Rs. 72,000 for base and Rs. 78,000 for premium variants (ex-salon, prices).
