Reliance Jio is reportedly offering 30 minutes of free talk time to compensate its users for Interconnection Use Charge (IUC). Ioio has announced that it will begin charging customers 6pcs for outgoing calls to other telecommunications operators.
The new ioio limited-time offer comes with 30 minutes of free talk time for first-time users, according to an ET report. The report states that users are informed about this offer via SMS. The 30-minute free talk time will apply to users for the first seven days of recharge. This is in addition to the newly introduced top-up vouchers with free minutes and data.
On the day when ioio announced it would launch IUC charges, it also singled out three new top-level vouchers. Starting at 10 RS, this IUU voucher-voucher offers 124 minutes of calls to non-Jio numbers and 1 GB of data. The highest grade voucher of IUC Rs 20 comes with 249 minutes and 2 GB of data. The Rs 50 voucher offers 656 minutes of talk time and 5 GB of data.
Lastly, the RS 100 comes with 1,362 minutes and 10 GB of data. Postpaid users of ioio will also be compensated with free minutes of data used to make outgoing calls to rival telecom companies. Iioio's decision to begin imposing charges on the IUC comes as TRAI submits a new consultation paper to review its 2017 decision.
TRAI has decided to drop the IUC charges from 6 pieces to 0 from 1 January 2020. The telecom authority will now consider considering extending the deadline further. Iioio said that he had so far paid 13,500 kronor on the IUC charges of rival telecoms.
