Industrial production contracted 4.3 per cent in September, mainly as a result of poor performance in the manufacturing sector, according to official data released on Monday.
Factory output, as measured by the Industrial Production Index (IIP), increased by 4.6 percent in September 2018.
The slowdown was registered in the manufacturing sector, which decreased by 3.9% in September compared to the growth of 4.8% a year ago.
Output in the electricity production sector reached 2.6% in September, versus 8.2% growth in the previous period.
Mine production also fell by 8.5% in the month under review versus 0.1% growth in the same period fiscal year.
