The Goair plane later landed safely at Hyderabad Airport.
The country's aviation watchdog, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), ordered an investigation after the Airbus A320 commercial plane carrying Goir was forced to make an unorthodox and dangerous take-off from the airport in Bengaluru, Bengaluru.
The A320 departed Nagpur on Monday with 180 people reported aboard and was due to land in Bengaluru later that day. However, when landing the aircraft began to depart from the runway and the grass covered lane on one side of the runway.
At this point the pilot increased the engine speed and, fortunately, was able to take off. The plane then made its way to Hyderabad, its diversion airport, where it landed safely.
Yes, the flight missed the runway but didn't land there … The pilot saved us by taking off and eventually landed at Hyderabad. I was on that flight. pic.twitter.com/u8ha2HVX1k

All passengers were safe, and the crew was grounded. In addition, the pilot of the plane, an expatriate, is now suspended.
"On Monday, November 11, 2019, a Goair G8 811 flight from Nagpur to Bengaluru departed around Bengaluru and was diverted to Hyderabad. All passengers, crew and aircraft landed safely in Hyderabad," the statement said.
"This incident that can be reported was immediately reported to the DCSA – the industry regulator. Pending the investigation by Goir and the regulator, the flight crew was kept off-duty, ”the report added.
Last month, a Hyderabad-bound Goir flight made an emergency landing at Patna airport due to a technical problem.
The plane, the Airbus A320neo, was due to fly to Patna, but shortly after takeoff, the pilot notified Patna Air Traffic Control (ATC) of a problem and was instructed to make an emergency landing.
All 146 passengers on board were safe, and the flight was subsequently completed after an alternative aircraft was mobilized, the airline said in a statement.
