Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 38, gets this kind of output – "God" says goodbye to LA!
The Swedish soccer star officially leaves Los Angeles after two seasons. The breakup was announced Wednesday by both sides.
"I came, I saw, I won," Ibrahimovic wrote on Twitter. "Thanks to the Los Angeles Galaxy, through you I felt alive again."
And, of course, there was – in the usual way of Ibrahimovic – a slight provocation aimed at Galaxy fans: "He loved Zlatan, he got Zlatan. You are welcome. The story goes on … Now baseball is back. "
The Swedish superstar has scored 56 goals in 52 appearances in the US MLS professional league since joining Galaxy in March 2018. However, the West Coast team won with him only one playoff game. Also the title as the most valuable player in the MLS (MVP) misses Ibrahimovic this year. The title went to Mexican Carlos Vella of local rival Los Angeles FC, who scored 34 goals.
After losing in the quarter-final in a playoff game against city rival Los Angeles FC, Ibrahimovic said it was too early to talk about his future plans. Most recently, he was hanging out with Italian clubs: SS Napoli signaled interest, even with Bologna, there should be a desire to borrow the eccentric striker.
A good decade ago, Ibrahimovic stopped in Spain with Lionel Messi for a season with FC Barcelona, but where he was repeatedly contaminated by successful coach Pep Guardiola. In the face of anger with the coach, he eventually returned to the Italian Serie A.
