Support for Windows 10 at the end of 2020: Two versions are affected

How can you find out how long support for your version of Windows 10 will last? Thumbs up, you may remember that in addition to the latest version of Windows 10, both predecessors also come with updates. Windows 10 is currently 20H2 – the predecessors of 2004 and 1909 are still supported. All older versions will be phased out.

This information applies to private users, including when using Windows 10 Home or Pro. Thus, the new version of Windows 10 is supported for about 18 months, after which you need to update. Microsoft summarizes the end-of-service times for different versions of Windows 10 in a spreadsheet. Note that longer support times apply to corporate users.

If you stay with an old version of Windows for too long, Microsoft occasionally shows tips that support will expire and that you need to update them. You should not ignore this for too long, as Windows without security and quality updates is a risk.
