Munich – The scenery is a bit reminiscent of Christmas, although it happened in the summer. The light in Luz Stadium was outside, but four figures could be seen in the distance in the center circle of the Lisbon arena. They sat surrounded by glittering confetti. You could not hear anything, but this picture said more than a thousand words anyway. Oshoshua Kimich, David Alaba, Serge Gnabri and Hansi Flick tacitly enjoyed Bayern’s triple victory. For the Bayern coach, “one of my personal moments in 2020”.
Flick fondly remembers that magical night, which is only logical, as it crowned his success story after less than a year in office. The 55-year-old, however, uses the year coming to an end – and so terribly exhausting – as an opportunity for a more comprehensive summary. In Club Magazine 51 he looks at what has been achieved so far – but also says: “If I am not permanently ready for the additional parameter, then I have no place in Bavaria.”
Flick’s first game against Dortmund: Brave lineup and 4-0 victory
These words should by no means be threatening, Flick is satisfied with his professionals, he has no “worries” about lack of motivation in the post-triple season. But he wants to make it clear that Bayern “do not need players who jump just as high as they should”. The will to put everything into success every day is part of it The DNA of this club. He lives it – it’s not for nothing that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge praises him: “I would call this style we play today the style of FC Bayern.” He has suffered little in the past few years, but has returned since Flick took office.
“Knowing exactly where you stand” is what professionals value about their coach. This is what Thomas Miller says, who described Flick as brave from day one – still as an interim coach. Flick also remembers his first match in the Bundesliga, in which he had to score against BVB. He bet on the offensive line – and when his players asked if it was possible, he replied: “Yes, we can do it!” The game ended 4-0.

FC Bayern under attack: Never adapt to the opponent, always do your own thing
Flick knows what he wants, for him “this question should be asked Play it safe to go, in fact I never asked. ” “He never stops thinking outside the box,” Miller said. The focus is always on “the view that FC Bayern need clear DNA”. Flick describes it with the words: “Possession of the ball, to be dominant, offensive goals”. When he was a player, it was said: “The main thing is to win! “FC Bayern have always defined themselves through success, but today the way you win is part of it.” Bayern does not adapt to the opponent under Flick, but does its thing.
“Although Flick says football is allowed.”never be dogmatic“He has clear ideas, for which he is responsible internally. He is considered a controversial spirit, but the people on the upper floors of the Sobener Guard say: That is why he has changed from interim coach to head coach – and should stay for a long time. He still did not have a real crisis of moderation, although he knows “that in sports you grow in difficult times.”
If someone came in 2021, he would be ready. He has the trust of his bosses. “Hansi is a gift for FC Bayern”– says Rummenigge. But it really suits Christmas. – Hannah Raif
