Over 200 people died in Congo due to the Ebola virus outbreak

According to the National Health Authority in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), over 200 people died in the latest outbreak of the Ebola epidemic, saying that almost half of the victims come from the 800,000-strong city of Beni, north of the Kivu region.

The vaccinations program has so far received about 25,000 people.

However, Congolese Health Minister Olli Ilonga said that armed groups continue to plague medical teams in the affected areas.

In September, vaccination campaigns were suspended in Beni, when the armed group launched an attack in the area lasting several hours. The current outbreak of the Ebola virus, which began in July, is the tenth since the country was affected since 1976.
