Regional Director (s) of the area, Rodrigo de la Rosa, explained that the sectors that saw the greatest reduction in employment were processing industry, trade and artistic activities, with 15.5%; 9% and 33.9%, respectively.

Regarding gender-related unemployment rates, there were no regional variations for men, however, he said that Unemployment in women has increased, which is 6.5%. The INE Director explained that the number of employees at the regional level has reached just over 186 thousand people, while the unemployed turned 9,900 persons.
At the national level, the highest unemployment figures are held in the regions of O Higgins, Antofagasta, and Tarapaka; while the lowest are for the Aysen, Magellan and Los Lagos regions.
