The industrial production index increased by 0.4% in twelve months during November



In November 2018, the Industrial Production Index (IPI) increased by 0.4% for twelve months, due to the increase in two of the three sectors it composed, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The Mining Production Index (IPMin) grew by 5.7 per cent year-on-year and had an impact of 2,479 percentage points (pp). For the IPI variation, as a result of the increase in methane mining of 6.4 per cent, an activity that had an impact of 6,047 points. in the growth of IPMin.

The electricity, gas and water production index (IPEGA) increased by 0.7% in twelve months and contributed with 0.070 percentage points. for the result of IPI, due to the increase in two of the three activities that make up. The gas contributed with the highest positive impact (0.753 percentage points) in the IPEA variation, increasing by 8.8%, as a result of the greater distribution of gas.

The Manufacturing Manufacturing Index (IPMan) declined by 4.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and has an impact of -2.194 percentage points. in the IPI variation, is largely explained by the inter-national reduction of 5.5% in the elaboration of food products, which depreciates 1.881 pp. for the result of IPMan.
