MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On the morning of December 27, the modification of the height of the International Space Station (ISS) was carried out with the assistance of proprespersons of the Progres MS-10 cargo ship, raising the orbit by 1.15 km, a representative of the Flight Control Center informed Sputnik.
"The operation was normal, the average height of the station increased by 1.15 kilometers and it was 405.7 kilometers," the agency's spokeswoman said.
The source explained that the Progress Progress Progress system was activated at 06.05 Moscow time (3.05 GMT) and ran 337 seconds.
A correction was made to create the ballistic conditions necessary for the merger of the Soyuz MS-12 spacecraft.
Earlier sources from the Russian space sector informed Sputnik that during 2019, the average ISS orbit will increase by 15 kilometers in advance of the next cycle of solar activity.
