On Ministry of Health (Minsal), urged to strengthen or update the vaccination of people born between 1995 and 1999 as a preventive measure against cases of imported measles.
Until this Friday, January 4th 23 cases were registered (12 men and 11 women) confirmed by the Institute of Public Health.
This is why Minsal decided strengthening vaccination against measles, rubella and mumps in people between 20 and 24 years 11 months and 29 days, thinking about the target population of more than one million people.
For the selected group, it was explained the population born between 1995 and 1999 is the first that is not exposed to the circulation of chickenpox. In addition, the rates of mumps registered in the country since 2016 have mainly affected young people between 20 and 24 years.
