League of Legends: Riot games accused of violating the privacy rights of their users | Technology

A great scandal was formed in the community of the recognized League of Legends when one Reddit user reported that, after finding faults in the system, the game will access queries and interactions in the users' browsers.

The fight against piracy and third party development programs that can affect gaming experience is a constant war for developers who are obliged to protect users of these negative practices with more interesting and special methods.

According to the user's report, he noticed this method when he opened the tab in the browser with the search Cheat engine, a program that allows the user to change the real-time variables of any software in execution, at the same time as the use of the video game.

After a few seconds playing, the system reports an error indicating that third-party programs are being used, so the application will be closed so as not to affect the experience of other users.

Controversy is justified in the fact that Riot games does not advertise in user agreement or anti-piracy rules for games using browser recognition and reading to avoid the use of such programs, thereby violating contractual agreements and the privacy of players.

However, in a privacy agreement, the company notes how it collects information to avoid the bad practices of some users and emphasizes it again in line with the supervision in point 7 of the terms of use.

So far, the company has not addressed the subject, while in the community comments are divided by those who believe they see a violation of their privacy and by those who clarify that the company is doing this action by approximately 2013.
