Chrome will integrate the DuckDuckGo browser as a new browser

DuckDuckGo was banned from Google and was not available until users searched through the browser.

DuckDuckGo, an effective Search Engine that offers full privacy for users, will be available today for Google Chrome. Now consumers can even choose to be the default search engine, as Bing and Yahoo do, for example, which was not previously possible. This new feature will be included in the latest version of Chrome version 73, and will be available in more than 60 countries.

The "Duckling" search engine is one of those that has gained most supporters in recent years, and has special qualities such as using a variety of browsers that allow you to add sites of public origin and thus show better results for users. Another particular peculiarity is that the service does not inquire about the user's personal data or about privacy.

All these points in favor have made Google Chrome use its options to be used and users need to access through other browsers. However, this will change from today.

DuckDuckGo: Your privacy is secure

This exciting search engine has been improved over recent years, as its differentiation with other search engines is to have the full privacy of users when performing the search as the main feature. Remember that Google's privacy issues are a problem because they have brought charges of misusing confidential information.

Without going further, by the end of 2018, DuckDuckGo developers accused Google of not offering privacy guarantees in its "incognito mode". However, a radical change in the relationship between the two search engines is mainly due to an agreement between the two companies to work together.

In the words of the founder of DuckDuckGO, Gabe Weinberg "We are pleased that Google has recognized the importance of offering consumers a private search option ". In order for users to change the browser in Chrome, they must complete the following steps:

  • Click the 3 points in the upper right corner of the Chrome interface.
  • Choose a setting option.
  • Enter the search engine.
  • Finally select the DuckDuckGo option by default.
