Channel 13 makes a profit of $ 1,500 million, and CHV reduces losses of $ 1,000 million

In this positive evolution, the Canal 13 balance highlights an increase of 16.4% in revenues by September, closing in this way with a total amount of $ 58.783 million. The company pointed out that the main factors are the increase in sales of the ads, the remarkable contribution of the sale of equipment under the plan of transferring production areas to the Spanish company Secuoya and the transfer of antennas to Torres Unidas, which has been progressing for four years.

This was accompanied by a better cost scenario, ranging from $ 50,987 million as of September 2017 to $ 46,685 million the same month this year. This reduction of 8.4% "corresponds, in part, with a different combination of lower self-fulfillment programs and greater purchase of packaged programs," the firm said.

Regarding the expectations for the end of the year, the channel believes that the trajectory in the fourth quarter of 2018 will allow them to continue to maintain profits, although they warn that their size may be lower, depending on the reduced dynamics of the advertising industry that is being observed. in the last months.

Chile downsized losses by 71%

For its part, Chileans reported a 71% reduction in their losses in the third quarter of this year, whose item was reduced by more than one billion pesos to reach $ 413 million. In this way, the figures in red during the first nine months of this year amounted to $ 7,297 million, with $ 104 million less than in the same period of 2017.

The station said the main explanation for this improvement in the July-September period was the increase in ordinary incomes by 21% to a total of $ 14,473 million. "This is the best quarter in the last three years of Chileis, mainly thanks to the success of our block, which increased 16% in household ratings and 33% in commercial rating."
