A new and powerful passenger plane without medium-sized seats

There is a shark on the track. No, it's not a nightmare scenario caused by a serious flood, but the emitter E190-E2 is actually painted with a special shark white shoe.

In recent months, these boats have generated reactions and starred in Instagram's photos of their Maldives trips to South Africa during a world tour.

This is the plane of an exhibition of the family of regional aircraft E2 from Boeing and Embraer, which covers them E175-E2, E190-E2 and E195-E2, and that it steals part of the attention that its competitor, the Airbus A220, recently touched.

The A220 series It was originally created by the Canadian manufacturer Bombardier as the C series, and the first ones were sold to Swiss International Air Lines, which they use since 2016. AirBaltic became the second C-Series operator at the end of 2016, and in Korea Air received its delivery in December 2017 and Delta also placed orders and plans to launch regular A220 flights in 2019.

E2 vs. A220

However, it was in October 2017 that Airbus has announced a Bombardier partnership, that the majority stake in the manufacturer and the change of brand from series C to A220 started during the Farnborough Fair in July 2018.

The rivalry between The E2 series Embrener and the Airbus A220 have reached their zenith in Farnborough, when JetBlue Airways ordered 60 A220 to E2, to replace its fleet Embraer 190. The first deliveries of these are not expected by 2020, but for travelers who know and maybe want the smaller jets of the JetBlue fleet (the airline currently only works with Airbus A320 and Embraer E190s), the change of the "Airbus A220" means the loss of details that are considered to be a registered trademark of Embraer: they do not have a middle ground.

The Embryo World Tour was an opportunity for a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer to show consumers, as well as passengers, that it also has new aircraft and with technical and comfortable achievements.

Larger windows, larger containers

So, what are these advances, specifically?

While the details, such asl footrest and seat configuration, decisions that each airline must make, new generation airplanes offer guaranteed benefits to passengers, such as redesigned windows with larger frames to make the cabin bright, the upper containers that are 40% larger and can set a standard hand luggage with wheels, first and without seat rails under the seat to provide more space for the legs.

"The goal is to preserve the passenger's personal space," said Rodrigo Silva Souza, vice president of marketing for Embraer Commercial Aviation, CNN Travel.

The interior designs of the E2 show a "cabin-wide cab feeling" to "give passengers the impression that they have more space or are in a larger plane."

While passengers may feel they are flying in a larger plane, there is a special feature that is undoubtedly Embraer, and it will continue with E2: the absence of medium-sized places.

Improved fuel efficiency

Even the toughest airlines can not place mediums on these aircraft; the configuration will be 2-2, with passengers assigned to a window or hallway.

Embraer even offers an optional premium cabin with outdated seats in order to increase privacy.

From a technical point of view, improving fuel efficiency and emission reductions are the main points in favor, and this is possible thanks to a brand new wing design. The plane is also lighter in general due to the use of the latest flight technology.

While the shark snake plane continues its world tour, there are already Embroider E2 aircraft that enter the regular passenger service.

Where to fly?

The first E190-E2 was delivered in April to the regional subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines, Widerøe, and the airline now flies three around Norway.

E2's largest customer is SkyWest, a dedicated regional airline flying to companies such as American Airlines, Delta, United and Alaska Airlines.

Your order, the first one that was set when the E2 program was launched at the Paris Air Show 2013is 100 units on the smaller E2 plane, the E175-E2, which can carry 80 to 90 passengers, depending on the configuration.

This means that the new E2 aircraft will surprise US travelers with more spacious interiors, larger containers, although this will be only in 2021 when the first deliveries are scheduled. FlightGlobal reports that Embraer also has indicated Alaskan Airlines, Ghost and United as airlines to the United States, who are likely to benefit from replacing part of their current fleet of narrow bodies with E2 aircrafts.

AerCap, an independent airline leasing company with clients in airlines around the world, signed the second largest order of E2 with more than 20 of each of the larger variants of the E190-E2 and E195-E2, and confirmed that Kazakhstan's Air Astana, is the first placement.

When are your deliveries started? In 2019.

Azul, from Brazil; Helvetic, from Switzerland; Vatania from Kuwait and Tianjin Airlines from China also ordered variants of the E2 family.
