Just days after a number of analysts said Nintendo would not manage to reach its goal of delivering 38 million units by March 2019, a new report now suggests that Switch will overtake PlayStation 4 next year.
According to the latest projections of the Analytics Connected Home Devices strategy, the switch is expected to transfer 17.3 million units worldwide in 2019. By contrast, Sony's combined PS4 and PS4 Pro sales are projected to reach a total of 17.1 million. Microsoft Xbox One and Xbox One X systems will remain in third place, changing 10 million units.
The report also provides some general facts. Sony continues to be a leader in the console market – almost half of all video game consoles are used with their systems. Ownership of consoles is also rising again in the world, and the global retail value of gaming console business is expected to reach $ 15.4 billion this year (2018), an increase of 7.6%.
