Justice Minister Saskatchewan says his government will follow Ottawa's leadership on how to deal with the province's relationship with the Chinese communications company Huawei.
Don Morgan says Crown's Crown Crown will not acquire new Huawei technology in the meantime.
He expressed concern in the province during a telephone conversation with Federal Minister for Public Security Ralf Gudele.
The United States has uncovered 13 criminal conspiracy, deception and obstruction charges against the company and CEO Meng Wangjo, who is currently in Canada and is facing extradition.
Saskatchewan's opposition in the NDP said charges against Huawei for espionage and security threats might require SaskTel to suspend its deal with the company.
Morgan says the charges leave Saskatchewan in a difficult spot, as they have invested more than $ 200 million in Huawei's services.
