Singer-songwriter Peggy Young, who was previously married to Neil Young, died.
In a post on Facebook, her family says she died in her native California of the New Year after this year's battle with cancer.
Peggy Young was married to Neal Young for 36 years until he separated and divorced in 2014.
She was an inspiration for some of Neil Young's love songs, including "Such a Woman", "Unknown Legends" and "Once An Angel".
She began as a singer in the 1990s, shares the stage with him on the Oscars since 1994 and has numerous visits over the past 20 years.
She has released three solo albums since 2007 and has traveled a lot on her own, occasionally with Neal on guitar.
Peggy Young also founded the bridge school with her ex-husband, for children with severe developmental disabilities.
