A person is dead after a crash on several vehicles in the afternoon between Squamish and Whistler on Sunday.
The clash occurred north of Squimish near Black Tusk on the 99 highway.
When Squamish RCMP arrived, one person was dead at the scene, according to a police statement on Sunday afternoon.
Highway 99 was closed for several hours in both directions, while the police investigated, and then opened for traffic with one traffic.
"While the opening of the highway is open is a top priority for the police, the priority is to gather evidence in a way that is safe and allows for a thorough investigation," Insp. Dale Carr, of the RCMP County in the Lower Continental District. "Our commitment is to get traffic as soon as possible."
Further information can be released tomorrow, according to RCMP.
