Bad news if you are trying to reduce your carbohydrates: the liquid from your local store can cost you 75 grams of carbohydrates or more per serving. Considering that most low-carbon plans require you to eat less than 100 grams a day, that drink can almost completely erase your daily budget.
"Many fragrant stains will add honey, agave, maple syrup, dates, more fruits and fruit juices, which can increase overall sugar content," said Mary Claire Shurina, MS, RD, LD, an acute care dietician in Atlanta, Georgia, told POPSUGAR.
Good news? You can easily build a delicious, low-calorie drink at home, where you have more control over what's happening in it. "I always recommend incorporating 1-2 fruits, a source of protein and healthy fat," said Maria Claire. This combination of carbohydrates, proteins and fats will "prevent the blood sugars that will ultimately lead to energy falls later in the day," she explains. Keeping the contents of the fruit low and not adding sweeteners will also keep the coal mining.
To cover part of the protein from your brew, they fit into your favorite (unsweetened) protein powders or Greek yogurt. For a dose of healthy fat, you should make a tablespoon of butter or half an avocado. When it comes to fruits, "berries offer more fiber and less sugar than other fruits, making them excellent choices," said Maria Claire. (For reference, half a cup of blueberries has 11 grams of carbohydrates, while the average banana has 27 grams.) Focus on it to point out that balance, and daily you can have a drink while you will still be on the right track with your goals.
