Toronto Paramedics say the girl is in a dangerous condition after being stabbed in her neck, and her mother and another child were injured.
Police and paramedics were summoned to the property at Tardal Street, near McCoane Street and Eglinton Avenue East, around 6 am. on Friday.
A spokeswoman for Toronto Paramedic said the girl was taken to a trauma center in Toronto with critical injuries after being stabbed in her neck.
A spokesman also said that a woman in her 30s, whom the police later identified as the girl's mother, was also taken to a trauma center. The paramedics say that the woman suffered from a trauma of blind force on the head.
A second child was also injured, but the nature of their injuries and their relationship with the girl and woman is unclear.
Police in Toronto said police officers were looking for a male suspect. He is described as five meters to nine and was last seen wearing a white jacket. Police say they may not wear shoes.
More to come.
